The game, and show, clearly intend for the player/viewer to take away that a vaccine was absolutely possible with Ellies body. It isnt left vague at all. Trying to dig into the real world science of it is just silly. Many works of fiction require a certain level of suspension to buy in, we are talking about a zombie apocalypse here.

The movie has its moments. It would have fared much better if it was rated R and got more graphic, imo. Its nothing like the book but that doesnt automatically mean its bad. But I expect a zombie movie to have some brutality and weight behind its horror. Still, the Jerusalem scene, plane scene, even the beginning outbreak scene in traffic are all pretty memorable.
