Yes: Powys Media produced a series of books which continued the series. And also picked up the storylines left by other episodes, such as Testament of Arkadia. That is exactly what I want, now to find a place that has a copy.

I didn’t find “Testament of Arkadia” there. Were you using it as a hypothetical example?

LOL no.

All of the Star Trek spinoffs have the same problem with uniforms, including the ones make in the 90s up to the present.

Along with all of the uniforms from all of the Star Treks the Space 1999 uniforms were poorly designed, flattering only perfectly slim people.

Maybe a billionaire who was a fan as a child will make a reboot as a personal indulgence instead of designing a really crappy and ugly truck like someone else.

No, Kit Harrington is really going to play Commander Koenig. 🙂 /s

I don’t know if a contemporary audience would accept a story about the moon getting blown out of Earth’s orbit. I enjoyed it as a kid. I think adults would roll their eyes at the scientific silliness. As a child the aesthetics captured my imagination. It was like going to museum and starring at a moving picture. The show looked like contemporary spacecraft of the time, not like Star Trek. Again, would contemporary audiences go for that? Many people found season 1 dull ( I still watch it ). I would want the same aesthetic and tone as season 1. I don’t think they could replace Barry Morse, but they certainly can do a better casting job for Barba Bain’s role. I still watch Space 1999 and think how wooden her acting is.

I remember all of that too!
