r/spiders:

It is next to impossible for a recluse to bite a pet that isn’t the spiders food.

Agree with Loxosceles rufescens, the Mediterranean Recluse. These spiders are known to travel the world and hitchhike way more than any other Loxosceles species. I have one as a pet, currently. And others.

I had several Latrodectus and Loxosceles from around the world, several Heteropoda, a few Cupennius, one BWS, and a gigantic and gorgeous Hogna carolinensis. https://imgur.com/a/SMbC9kj

There are also colonies of them living in Florida, and very remote and small, like one building small, areas of California.
