Get the widest wood chisel you can, usually like a 2″ one are the biggest in most stores. Use that to pop them apart. Having another chisel that’s thicker (like a brick set, or any old cold chisel) may help too, once you start driving in the wood chisel. The wood chisel can then be used to get the adhesive off the blocks. It also won’t be any good for wood again, so don’t buy a nice one, lol.

Try not to have any four brick corners (you want your joints to look like a T not a +) and don’t let your joints get too long. The boarder looks nice! You also did a good job keeping everything flat. Not bad for a leftovers patio!

The stones look real, the work looks terrible.

Make a soldier or sailer course around the boarder. You’ll still have to make cuts in the field where they meet the soldiers though. This can not be done without cuts or doing what you did. Square pegs don’t fit in round holes.

Do not take a sniff of that shit. Do not get it on your skin. Do not breathe the cartoon green smoke that emits from the reaction.

Indeed. This is why you don’t use mortar on these.

There is none. These are dry stacked.

These don’t get mortared together.

We are gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. I have built them with mortar, as you suggest. I didn’t recommend to the homeowner to do so and tried to talk the out of it. I have also built them like this as dry stack. Haven’t gotten any call backs for any of them. These problems we are talking about aren’t gonna show up till the next homeowner buys this place anyways. Not saying I’m want to do things wrong, I just don’t think these things are as bad as building a wall that’s gonna get water in it.
