This is silly and unfounded and hearing OPs rant sounds so damn juvenile. and the story is just getting better. I hope Corey sticks to this quality. TF are you talking about, you’ve only read 1/2 of one book of nine OP. The quality is consistent throughout the series, from page one to the end. You wouldn’t know this as you’ve watched shows only. This post is a worthless waste of time, as is answering any of your questions or engaging further.

The folks suggesting it’s okay to read them after finishing the series are IMO incorrect. This is how I did it my first read through and it left me feeling unsatisfied, like I missed the boat with large chunks of the story told too late. I originally read the books before the last three came out, started watching the series and was reading as those were finishing so it was a multi-year journey. By the time I had Memory’s Legion and read it too much had happened, I forgot or misremembered quite a lot. The folks suggesting publication order may be correct but I’m not exactly certain the novellas were all written to when they fit in the timeline. There’s reddit posts with an order to be read, I just searched and found this chronological order list, which if I remember correctly can work great. On my second and third reads I followed a chronological order and it felt great and told the story holistically. In summary, choose a good chronological order and enjoy thoroughly. edit: changed the linked chronological order as another commentor posted to the one I prefer

The Final Architecture by Adrian Tchaikovsky, especially if craving more space opera. Children of Time and Dogs of War, both fantastic series also by AT. Almost everything by AT is great, so many original concepts and ideas, the guy is prolific af. Revelation Space by Alaistar Reynolds, The Culture by Ian Banks are both amazing with numerous books. Hyperion and A Fire Upon the Deep, some older but solid series. Red Rising if you’re into it, kinda YA.

Im its the best SW since the original trilogy, hands down. Do the Expanse, save Andor for later. Enjoy.

To answer your question OP, yes both and. Based on what you described it sounds like the whole family will enjoy. Watch the show the fam, read the books too. Both are fantastic. Also separately, check out Andor if you havent already.
