Why would the cop, who has discretion in arrests like this, choose to arrest someone for wearing a medical mask, which isn’t against the law, and they were told to not arrest people for?

Agreed on all points. That’s the big problem with the “lawful order” stuff. No one, including the cops, even know if it is a lawful order. You have to follow lawful orders. You don’t have to follow unlawful ones. I would highly have suggested that lady play the game by thier rules. But I also understand, that were I in her position, and knew the law better than the cops, I might take one for the movement as well, knowing it wouldn’t even have to make it to the courts for it to be decided.

I didn’t sign up to be a public servant. I am not paid directly from US Tax payers. It is not a law that my name be documented and available to the public because of my chosen profession. I’m not going around denying Constitutional Rights. I’m not dressing in plain clothes, without a warrent, snatching people and throwing them in the back of a min van. If you want to blast mine, feel free. But it will get you banned from Reddit. Because the contract I entered into when joining the site was explicit about that. Just as the contracts the Ice thugs signed were explicit about thier names, numbers, and salaries being public information
