my reasoning for using the j-paper on the outside is that wraps such as dutch masters have an outer leaf, so the added joint paper is another layer to wraps(such as swishers) that just makes it burn slower

Awesome piece! I have one almost identical and just a word of advice, clean it as much as possible. The resin build up on the down stem happens very fast and quickly effects the smoke-ability.
