She did basically everything right. The American electorate looked at a guy who mimes giving blowjobs during speeches and suggests injecting bleach to cure viruses, who had already been president before and lost 2.7 million jobs, and decided that would be better than having a competent black woman as president.

He also just doesnt care. At all. While it burns down hes just going to keep saying things are going really well and there may be some bumps in the road but we are perfectly ok with that.

This is like watching a movie thats so fucking horrendously bad that its actually entertaining in how bad that it is. Except you dont resume normal life when the credits roll, youre stuck in the bad movie for an indefinite amount of time.

Not sure what alternate reality you are living in but no, here on planet Earth, this exact thing did not happen 8 years ago, or at any other point in history for that matter.

He wont. At best he will decrease some tariffs just to give some good news/temporary bump, but this is his signature economic agenda. He has put a lot of time and energy into hyping up tariffs, and claiming that trade deficits is evidence that America is getting ripped off on trade, and therefore the tariffs must happen. Hes not one to ever admit he is wrong. EDIT: he just threatened an additional 50% tariff on China for their retaliatory tariffs on Trumps initial tariffs. We are deep into the find out part of fucking around.

It is going to be a nightmarish cascade of bad things and bad news for the foreseeable future. And I think even if Trump reversed course tomorrow, too much damage has already been done. But when has he ever admitted he was wrong? His behavior makes me think this is all intended anyways. Hes trying to crash the economy.

I highly doubt the fall is done. I dont think people are really grasping how bad this situation is, and how bad things are about to get in both the short term and the long term. This isnt just Trump doing zany Trump things and causing short term market craziness. This is unilateral transformative economic policy by a man who has no idea what hes doing thats going to send us into an economic death spiral. That said, there will be slight rebounds along the way, Im sure. Market will also go through some very irrational times.

Thats how gamblers behave. The consequences of this economic policy havent even begun to be materialized or fully understood by anyone yet. Anyone who thinks tariffs are going to be priced in or that weve hit the bottom are practicing self-delusion. The market will have fluctuations, of course, but wait until consumption slows drastically due to higher prices across the board, slowed productivity, mass layoff and rising unemployment, and explosive inflation. We are only in the beginning.

Im really curious what things look like 1-2 years down the road. In a very morbid type of way. The market is straight up in denial about reality if these tariffs are implemented and held for any amount of time.
