Agreed, the way for OP to be independent is to pay his own way. From the start he should have brought up his son not to be dependent on his money and he shouldn’t use it as a tool of blackmail. If his son wants to move out, he should be fearless about doing what it takes to support himself. Additionally, his father should have responded to him like an adult instead of a child throwing a tantrum. He should have explained that he doesn’t like it and why — then support his son in whatever course he takes. Instead he is being a royal cunt. Any parent would be grateful for a studious child focused on moving on to a lucrative career.
