And yet, political and media leaders continue to be outraged at the nature of protests against the genocide rather than the genocide itself. Instead of reckoning with the fact that the U.S. and U.K. governments are actively supporting genocide, our national discourse has turned toward whether protesters are too disruptive, whether festival performers crossed a line, or whether their language makes people uncomfortable.
