As an American born before the 90s, I grew up only hearing negative things about communism much the same as many of my peers and how capitalism is so much better. Its always interesting seeing people talk about their parents longing for the old communist system. In your opinion, do your parents truly miss it or was the turmoil of the post break up so bad that they remember it as a better time? Ive heard the above explanation for why Russian parents (only have talked to the younger crowd) have a soft spot for Putin. He essentially just strong armed all the issues and restored civilized life in the post soviet world. Thanks!
