Because the public via our media has been conditioned to have one set of expectations and standards for democrats and one for republicans. Democrats need to follow the rules, they need to be the grownups and they need to be looked at to clean up and block the destruction done by republicans. Failure to do that leads to massive criticism and backlash. Republicans on the other hand are held to zero standards. They are expected to be authoritarian, cruel to others, and destructive. The American people sit passively by awaiting democrats who they voted out of power to save them from the stuff republicans do they dont like, and criticize them every step of the way
