They drew a lot of inspiration from All-Star Superman. Maybe they will use Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow as inspiration for the final movie.
In a couple of older comics, his parents found a few loose threads and unraveled the blankets he arrived with, and the Ma knitted the suit. In an old issue of The New Adventures of Superman where she knits him a mew suit with all of the blue switched to yellow.
