I get what you’re saying. And it’s very true; Zionists and Jewish people are not the same. Some Jewish people may be Zionists, but so are some Christians. The star of David is a religious symbol, predating Zionists. But there are two other symbols of religion that once had nothing to do with genociders or rasists; the Valknut and the Swastika. These are both symbols from ancient religions, that have little if anything to do with what they are used to represent. The same goes to this. The star of David has become synonymous with Israel because that’s what Israel wants. Israel is also committing genocide.
