I give credit where it’s due. It’s rooted in alchemical tradition, although I do like the Greek version as well. Through fire all things are renewed. Just because a person is proud of their heritage it doesn’t mean they should be ethnocentric. In fact, as it should be clear by where the conversation started, I seek out other ethnicities to cherish and appreciate. My last partner was Palestinian American, before that Egyptian.
