I have some insight into the phenomenon. Both men and women tend to show pictures of things they believe to be accomplishments. Women show pictures of babies – which baffle us as much as our pictures of fish baffle them. I think these pictures really are descriptive. If a guy posts pictures of fish he’s going to spend time away from you fishing. If a woman posts pictures of babies they’re going to be spending time with their grandchildren and not having fun with us.
