I think it depends on the circumstances. If you really think the alternative candidate isnt that different or wont be so bad, then maybe a protest (non)vote is warranted. Like theres a time and a place for it, when the political climate is stable and the candidates are relatively normal.  But thats not where we are. I cant fathom how anyone could view Trump, especially after witnessing his first term, and think its ok to let this happen to the nation if you had any leftist values at all. We are in a pretty desperate situation. We either find a way to defeat the fascists, or we surrender to fascism. Exactly zero candidates will be perfect and pleasing to everyone, that doesnt mean we should allow an insurrectionist, felon, rapist, fraudster, anti-democratic, anti-constitution, wannabe dictator have his way with the country.
