I think it has to do with video games, tbh. First off, lemme say I’m old, but not that old, lol. (my excessive use of “lol” should point to my age) I’m not saying dumb shit like Tipper Gore (I’m old, OK?) that games make kids murders, or hell, even misogynistic as what I’m about to say might imply. But game characters aren’t reffered to as men and woman, the are reffered to as a “female” or “male” character. These guys out there that express gender in this way tend to be lonely incels. What do loney incels do when they aren’t watching the Whatever podcast or some other red pill hate? They play video games. I play video games too. But back in my day, us horney teenagers liked having female characters (see the use of that word in question being grammatically correct in this context). Now guys are raging at the thought of a woman lead (notice how that sounded a bit awkward). I think video games have warped some dude’s use of the language. I could be wrong, (I can be quite dumb sometimes) but I think a lot of the female vs woman is from this. What I don’t understand (and what could likely dismantle my argument) is why they tend to use this more when talking about ladies than dudes. I see a lot of things like “Yeah, but I’m a man. We don’t take kindly to females ’round these parts.” Probably because they feel more empowered by it. Leans towards dehumanizing in my opinion.
