I used to be extremely arachnophobic and could barely look at pictures of them. Then I found a jumping spider and had no clue my state had them. I kept it(it was cute, what can I say) and had to care for it so researched that. Had to force myself to look at spiders doing so. Met experts and professionals from around the world. Learned more and more over the years and now I am my states spider expert and teach people about spiders, how to ID them, how to get over the fear, correct myths and misinformation, and so much more.
