It’s pretty messed up and it seems like it was a reaction to a few things happening — in the two cycles before 2025, Republicans did pretty well, although Ted Cruz didn’t win Tarrant. In this 2025 cycle, they got Mattie back, who is kinda like a RINO at some level anyway, but they got waxed on everything else. Bo-Bo’s chosen guys, like Cary Chesire, got decimated (and by women, no less. THE HORROR!) Plus, 99.2% of people believe O’Hare is gone to Austin to be state AG within a not-short period. I think they all felt this was their last shot to try and lock down Tarrant as “reliably red.” No one knows what a post-Trump GOP looks like. Do you think people would charge the Capitol holding “Vance” signs? I don’t. So they had to lock down the bag now. They might have fumbled a few snaps en route, tho….
