One of StL’s biggest problems is we have the infrastructure for a lot of people that was built back in the day, but not enough people to use it now (if we ever did). The city planners were very ambitious. The Dome still hosts a lot of big conventions like this one (though this might be the biggest I’ve heard of). My favorite was when they had a life coach convention – literally 1000s of people wearing leg warmers and motivational t shirts. Terrifying. They were funny though – every passenger I drove for rideshare was like, “That was the BEST workout I’ve ever had! Let’s go to The Hill for pasta!” Super intense attitudes lol.
