Probably because that’s overdone and incredibly boring? ‘I got mugged near my apartment last night’ – great, go to the police. ‘There’s a gang of ne’er-do-wells eyeing my dumpster.’ Great, call the police. Etc. etc. Or just stupid, “I don’t live there but you guys should do something about the crime” type posts. Incredibly boring. Now, if you want to talk about “I got robbed, called the police, they showed up 7 hours later…” – NOW you’ve got something interesting to talk about. Edit: lot of people who have never visited Chicago were clearly upset by my comment 🙁 That’s okay – your tears sustain me. ::)
