The cops and the military are nothing alike, no matter what the cops want to tell you. There are rules of engagement for military, and severe discipline for those that break laws and rules. Cops on the other hand have ROE that begins and ends at thier ego, and droves of laws that let them get away with dereliction of duty, oath violations, criminal conduct, and lack of discipline. And cops are civilians, even if they want to call each other sergeant.
