Trump sees the interest rates as an inhibitor to growth and nothing more. He wants interest rates lowered because it will immediately make the numbers go up, which he and his cronies will capitalize on. When massive inflation results, or the economy tanks and we have no good tools at our disposal to stimulate it with, he will simply blame others for the consequences of his actions AND claim that he must now hurt the groups responsible somehow to fix it.
