Very same happened to me at a friend’s house about 20 years ago. Fell asleep on his couch watching TV and woke up not able to move, talk, or speak. There was a shadow of a man with a bowler hat standing over me. My friend was sitting right on the floor in front of the couch but I was behind him and he couldn’t see me. I freaked out and tried calling his name but only raspy wisps of breath escaped. It felt like a finger was pushing into my throat and tried like hell to scream. Finally a louder sound came out and my friend turned around and the shadow dude vanished and I gasped for air and freed from my paralysis, I sat up quickly and told him what happened. He said it happened to him all the time and he sees the bowler hat guy outside of his bedroom window sometimes. His bedroom is on the second floor and no way anyome could look in the window. His house was very haunted.
