What I heard was, “Do you want something to cry about? I’ll give you a reason to cry.” And then I would get hit. Amazingly, getting hit enough did get me to stop crying. I would like to be able to cry. I couldn’t cry when mom died. It’s been 11 years and I haven’t cried.
