Thats the way to do it. Try not to stress just be prepared as best you can. Its kind of crazy when you need to look through your things and decide what stays and what goes in a fire situation. In the end theres a cathartic release whether you need to leave or not. Youve taken the time and forethought about what you have thats valuable and what can be let go of. The hardest part for me was looking my library knowing how unreasonable it would be to try to save multiple crates of books. It hurt just knowing Id lose my library. For me firearms, precious metals, kitty carrier, documents and keepsakes, some clothes in addition to go bags and med kits. Youve got this OP. Best of luck.

Sounds to me like you squandered valuable numismatics for market value which is just unfathomable. Its good youre happy but likely with a little research and effort you could have sold those coins for much more. Unless you actually needed a quick buck it wouldve been more fruitful to save and share those with your family, especially if you have children.

Ive been where you are, my home was spared, my business was lost in the fires. Pack all your bags and get everything staged. I lived ready to evacuate for over 3 weeks in 2020. I had everything packed and in my living room ready to be thrown in car. I second getting Watch Duty app asap. The person telling you to leave now, ignore it. Just be ready. Dont stress if able. Have your pet transports ready. Pack gear, valuables and keepsakes. Tell your family to do the same. Good luck op.

Sycamore is the hardest to split wood I’ve ever dealt with. Granted I’ve only been at it the last four years and have had alder (way easy), oak, walnut, plum, cherry, madrone, doug fir (easy af) and sycamore. I split all by hand except for the sycamore and had borrow a friends 12 ton splitter to process that shit, it was nuts.
