You need to slow down, take one thing at a time, write ( yes, write ) out a goal, write down what it takes to achieve that goal ( do research if necessary ), make a step by step plan to do those things – with tiny steps you can do each day, and then put in the work.

I know it’s simple just stop doing it but what if I can’t You can, you just tell yourself you can’t to avoid the discomfort of changing a habit. Get focused on your life, that will help you lose interest in those people. Take a class, start a hobby, get into reading up on a subject, volunteer, join a club, go out and socialize, etc. Maybe talking it out with a therapist or someone who is a good listener.
