Make sure of a couple things before you start hitting rocks: clear out anything in the 8 spots surrounding the rock and make 2 holes behind where you’re going to be hitting it to stop your character from getting knocked back. Make sure the holes you dig are right next to each other and they’re positioned so that you can’t “slide” past them.

It is interesting to note, that one line of dialogue he asks of no one Why am I dressed like this?. To me this sounds like hes not used to the pirate attire. But who knows. Is Nookipedia considered official even if its not run by Nintendo?

You have to have switch online. If you do, search ACNH treasure island on twitch or YouTube and they have dodo codes for islands with all sorts of free stuff.

Thats why treasure islands are helpful. When I saw the ridiculous requirements for getting them, especially the shovel, I said to heck with it.
