This is misinformation. Under the bill, the border policies would be enforced, normally, as they always are no matter who is president. But under the bill there would be a complete and total shutdown of the border if daily encounters reached a threshold. That would mean a denial for even valid asylum seekers and other potentially legal immigrants for that day. Theres a difference between enforcing the border and shutting it down completely and cutting off all immigration. I know nuance is hard, especially on Reddit.

Thats definitely better than using Ludacris as an example, but its still a poor/flawed argument. Its like saying that since the Association of German National Jews existed, and supported Hitler, Nazism was not anti-Jewish, and the Swastika is not an anti-Jew symbol. The confederacy rebelled over the the right to keep blacks as slaves. Thats racist, no matter whos waving the flag.

You know Ludacris says the flag represents oppression of African Americans, right? He says the flag “represents the oppression that we as African-Americans have endured for years.” He reminds people that at the end of his performance, he removed the flag and stomped on it, showing the desire to move black people forward. Not really a good example to use for your argument.

I did, although my comment was removed for being rude. Jaakrabbit cited ludacris as an example of a poc wearing the confederate flag, therefore he must be racist. Implying that Ludacris wasnt wearing it literally to underline the racism it represents. Ludacris said this about wearing the confederate flag during a performance; He says the flag “represents the oppression that we as African-Americans have endured for years.” He reminds people that at the end of his performance, he removed the flag and stomped on it, showing the desire to move black people forward.

Israel doesnt need you to stick up for them. They are one of the most powerful nations in the world, with the full support and backing of THE most powerful nation in the world. Gaza does need help, because they are not powerful, they cannot defend themselves, they are under the control of Israel and under constant attack by Israel. Civilian deaths are wrong no matter whos committing them, but its interesting how Zionist propaganda insists Gaza civilians had to die because Hamas was using human shields and setting up bases in hospitals, and now we learn Israel also has bases in hospitals. That means by Israels own logic and propaganda

Removal is warranted, but is it the right thing to do? Is it a net benefit to the country to remove undocumented immigrants? Even setting aside the morality of ripping families apart and treating immigrants as inhumanely as they are being treated right now, consider that immigrants; Commit less violent crime than native born US citizens Pay billions in taxes, contributing to programs and services they themselves are not eligible to benefit from. Work jobs and spend their money in the US, stimulating the economy with labor and spending. Immigrants who are not committing any other crimes other than the unlawful entry or overstaying in the nation, who work jobs, pay taxes, spend money, and build families are contributing to American society in a positive way. Wouldnt it make more sense to instead make the pathway to citizenship easier for these folks? Now consider the financial cost to track down, arrest, and remove these individuals, who are not committing any other crimes and are contributing to our economy and society. And ask yourself, does this really make sense? And that is to say nothing of the abhorrent practice of denying due process, and sending some of these people who have never been convicted of any crime, to a life sentence in a torture prison outside of US jurisdiction.

No no, obviously the slaves were breaking the law and therefore they should be punished accordingly. Checkmate liberals.

You cannot prove its existence, but you also cannot prove god does NOT exist. You could argue it takes equal amounts of faith the firmly believe in either absolute position. Nah. It doesnt take any faith at all to believe theres no invisible dragon in my garage no matter how much I insist there is one. Youre partially right in that unfalsifiable claims cant be disproven, but I dont literally consider myself agnostic when it comes to unicorns, fairies, goblins etc and I wouldnt equate someone who claims these things arent real are embracing a similar level of faith as someone who claims they are real.
