It’s not a TV trope. It is the fucking law. Cops get to violate the law, legally, and claim ignorance. Cool, so you’ve never met a cop that would stand around while kids are being murdered. Well, there’s a lot of them in Texas. You’ve never met a cop that wouldn’t uphold the constitution? Well there’s a shit load of them in LA. Just because of your anecdotal experience of such great wonderful police, doesn’t mean the entire institution isn’t rotten to the core.

To claim that those who get to violate the law without repercussions while claiming ignorance, and who are trained to lie to the public at every chance to catch people up and circumvent constitutional rights, are worthy of trust is absurd. Police are not your friends. The see you as thier enemy.

Oath breakers as far as the constitution, but they have no duty to protect, render aid, or even stop crime happening in front of them. It’s pathetic.

The first amendment says that you have a right to protest (what this obviously was) in a traditional public forum (which is where this was). No law can be made that takes away this right. If he did this in his driveway then maybe he could be arrested. But this is the constitutionally protected area for him to do this.
