This is an example of a DM railroading himself. He had everything planned out in his head, and wouldnt deviate. PCs EXIST to wreck plans like that, and they should have known better.

You had the chance to kill him with the burning crops. No village would leave him alive. Ever. Ever ever. He just consigned them to starvation or imprisonment/execution from their uncaring and cruel land-noble when theyre short. He should be looooong dead.

Any multiclassing at my table is limited to 2 classes, and only after Lvl6. Keeps PCs in their lane.
