A lot of people will mention ginger and tumeric. Ginger will produce an effect after about 15-20 min. Turmeric will not, it works at lowering you base level of inflammation over time. I’ve seen articles about turmeric supplements being contaminated with heavy metals. Thorne is much more expensive, but they do have a reputation for thoroughly testing their raw materials. Some places like Whole Foods now sell whole, fresh turmeric root so that is another alternative.

You mentioned a prescription. What was the diagnosis? Did you go to a rheumatologoist, an orthopedist, or just a general M.D.? I like making infusions of stinging nettles ( boiling water over the leaves left to sit over night ). It is a strong antiinflammatory, a general all body tonic, AND stinging nettles are extremely nutritious. Also, do a web search on herbs for arthritis. You will find that there are about a half dozen easily accessible ones.

I’ve tried all sorts of supplements. I never felt better than when food diary sites came out and I made it a game to get 100% of all of the daily nutrient requirements. I have no relationship with cronometer.com, but they have pretty good free accounts. They are on the web and you can get a free app.

You get better at it as you learn what you can get from how much. Web searches on “Top 10 sources of ____” helps.
