Leaving for my 2 week right now. I’ll be checking back to see what the responses are. I’m doing great though, hbu op?

Unless major complications or her overall fitness / health level is concernedly low she should be able to manage what you describe OP.

Honestly I feel like I had it all setup and it went mostly smooth. One major convenience was using the Costco app to order my groceries delivered. Otherwise I live on primarily single story home, I only ice packs instead of machine and that worked out fine for me. Upon another persons advice I hung bag / basket on the front my walker so I could refill water bottle, get ice packs or food myself. High stools are helpful. I was able to get on and off the couch and in and out of bed by myself on day 2. Day 3 I was able to fully dress and undress as well shower. A high seat for the toilet is highly recommended. When is your procedure?

Everyone heals / responds differently so comparing your experience to what youve read can be misleading and discouraging. You can get through this, youve got this OP. Im 3 weeks post op today (54m) and have been literally on my own since day 3. While my journey seems smoother than most I still have my ups and downs and honestly the hardest part for me has been sleeping. In the last 3 weeks Ive had one good nights rest and when I woke the healing that happening that night was significant. Today Im up at 4am ice on my knee, blood pressure spiked and browsing Reddit. Everyday is different. Every person different. Dont be discouraged my friend. Good luck op.

Like others have said you should be able to use stairs the day of. Id still plan to use that first floor bedroom if you have the option, especially if it has an attached bathroom or one close by. Itll be much more convenient and easier, especially for naps.

Gardening, walking my dog and caretaking the property is my happy place. Ive been initially hobbling around to water the gardens, take care of chickens on my own since after week two started.

I’m 23 days post op and have had 2 really good night’s sleep, for me that’s been the hardest part. What’s kind of amazing that each night I slept well I awoke with major repair / recovery and capabilities I could not do the day’s before. Tbh the first night I slept great (about 10 days ago) was after smoking cannabis for a few days. A week or so went by and this weekend have been partaking, last night was second great night sleeping. Today I walked my dog well over a half mile carrying my cane. My swelling is down about 80% post op. Being active is crucial. Best of health OP.

Thats awesome! Im day 23 and just returned from my longest walk with my dog yet, at least .5 mile and holding my cane. I may plant a few tomato starters I have in the garden, or I may give that one more day.

I think you need at least 6 weeks for before submerging and taking bath, if I remember correctly.

My shower has bars on 2 of the walls, not a tub so easy to step into. I was showering and dressing / undressing myself on 3rd day.
