I’ve got an amazing life, home and property and I’m currently open to finding a life partner to share it all with.

Yeah Im not sure if thats gonna really happen, I dont expect it to stick. If so Ill definitely SBR my AR and get a short barrel 300BO upper for it. If it does go into law I fully expect prices on suppressors to spike. Fuck the BBB and this entire administration though.

For sure and 50 yards is perfect to sight in my rifles, knowing where they’ll go at 100 & 200 yards pretty accurately. While my neighbors are super cool, the vast majority of my shooting is suppressed and usually punching holes in paper.

Its only a 50 yard range. As much as Id love to have more land my riverfront property is amazing. A few times a year I shoot at long range spots so I can stretch out. Having something here is certainly convenient.

It is still strange to me, although I used to shoot at an indoor target range using their weapons that anyone needs or would want to own a gun. You’re either not paying attention to the state of affairs in the US (and much of the world) or you’re so damn privileged or ignorant that you don’t care or feel threatened. Brown skin folks (non-whites including natives, black and Asian communities), women, alternative sexual orientations, and basically an entire class of people in this country have every reason to be prepared. When a person is ready, they do not need to get ready. When you can take of yourself and those around you there’s less reasons to be in fear, feel threatened or become victimized. There’s usually at least one post a week in this sub (usually from women) who ask about how to feel safe. Having a firearm and the training to use it effectively is a great equalizer. edit: seeing your username and looking at your profile I can see you’re a matriarch and deserve respect. Please don’t take offense that my first reaction to your statement was fiery, these are trying times.

Just got back in from sighting in my new scope on my home range. Firearms, bow and arrow, martial arts are all a part of lifestyle. Ready for whatever the fuck comes my way. Ill add that I train with friends and neighbors and have contingencies and plans in place.

Oh thats fantastic! If you happen to be in Oregon or NorCal I can introduce you to a variety of firearms and platforms to see which youre most comfortable with. If you already have a home range you likely have neighbors and maybe friends / family near by to walk you through firearm safety and let you check their firearms out. Any questions at all hmu. Best of luck to you

A few notes on that, practice and training is super important. Having the capability and confidence to use ur firearm effectively is vital. Are you able to set up a home range at your property? Is it legal and safe to shoot there? If so thats great. Its also a good way to inform ur neighbors (in case any are shady) that you can take care of yourself. Making it clear youre not a victim will help keep predators at bay. That shotgun will have some kick but doesnt need as much skill to be effective. The AR will have quite a lot of penetration and requires a bit more skill and setup. Honestly a handgun would be a good way to go, its effective and easy to wield. It takes more skill to master but its very maneuverable and manageable and can also be concealed if you want.

A dog, cameras and yea get a firearm and learn to use one effectively. If you want some help sorting what firearm to get or any questions you have feel free to dm me. Im happy to help guide you. If you have the time and its not too far Id also encourage you to learn a martial art. Theres so many reason why from fitness to capability, self defense and situational awareness, camaraderie and community.
