My dog makes me smile more than anything else. Reading, gardening, houseplants & cacti, taking care of my hens, chopping wood and landscaping all bring joy as well.

Yeah there’s definitely after dinner cleaning I do, especially with anything that’s easier to clean while hot; pans, pots & skillets. The morning after coffee, pre-oatmeal has become kind of ritualized for me. One half the sink is always clean, the other half can wait till the morning.

I wash my dishes from the day before every morning after my coffee, before I make my oatmeal. I keep my basic spaces organized and vacuum every other week, dust every month or so, clean the toilet every 3-4 weeks. If I make an immediate mess (spill something, cat or dog pukes, etc.) I clean it right away. My home is never a mess, if I have a guest getting the place tip-top shape never takes more than an hour or two, max.

I’ll look it up. As a single man there’s only so much preservation I can keep up with. Hoping to find a partner to join me and help take my lil riverfront paradise homestead to the next level. Wanting to get a pair of goats once she joins me, as of now I can only handle so much on my own. To be clear, I’m perfectly happy and fulfilled being here with my critters and plants. I imagine it will be even better with someone to share it all with.

I’m the opposite, filling my freezers, lol. I’ve got blackberries, pears and plums I should be harvesting to preserve. The blackberries can be frozen, the pears frozen if skinned or dehydrated and not sure what to do with the plums other than give to my hens.

Similar day over here, transplanting, reading and frozen fruit smoothie all on the docket. Enjoy the records and your day, sounds lovely to me. I’ll be making a salad from the garden for dinner with salmon to go along with it.
