The jobs president, who lost a historic 2.7 million net jobs by the end of his first term, and plans to deport a significant number of the labor force in his second term, will surely set things right. Good job America.

That and the majority of people that bothered to vote. America collectively failed pretty badly this election, considering there was no doubt at all this time about what kind of person and president Trump is.

I notice that MAGA is really quiet on all these types of stories where Trump is just doing something objectively, horrendously bad. You guys can circle jerk yourselves daily that Trump and friends won the election, but bury your head in the sand as he destroys America and her institutions. Do you just block all this out and pretend it doesnt exist, or do you experience any kind of internal dissonance where you think maybe I was wrong? I mean sunk cost fallacy is a bitch but come the fuck on.

SCOTUS essentially ruled that Trump can assassinate his political enemies, legally, as an official act. I understand that hasnt actually been legally challenged and their ruling was somewhat vague, but that really is the gist of it. He can commit crimes as official acts and enjoys blanket immunity. So if SCOTUS now opposes him, theres a non-zero chance he has the ones who rule against him removed and easily nominated and installs new sycophants which will do his bidding.

Sick country ran by sick people.

Yes. Just because Trump was president then and now, doesnt mean things are the same. Most people, especially non-Americans, can see pretty plainly that this Trump term is very different from the first one. GOP and SCOTUS do not care about rule of law, traditions, or the constitution moreso now than ever. They are going to sit back and let this administration do as they please because they directly benefit from the consolidation of power.

Institutions cant survive a prolonged relentless assault from autocrats. It falls to the people to get involved at this stage, but unfortunately almost half of our countrymen are straight up hypnotized in a cult worshipping a dictator they think they want.

Jesus Christ, someone fucking greenlight this yesterday.

Trump has already flirted with the idea of just straight up ignoring the courts anyways. This goes one of two ways; SCOTUS goes in favor of Trump over the constitution (likely), or they refuse such an obvious violation of the constitution, but Trump directs ICE to treat this group as undocumented immigrants anyways because he knows no one will actually stop him.

Unfortunately we all have to own it. Your state is part of the union. This is like someone in a red state saying but my county voted blue. Or someone in a red county saying but my neighborhood To anyone from the outside viewing in – America failed as a whole. Now I agree that Republican states, businesses, and organizations should be targeted, but we still have to recognize our failings and take on the obligation that winning a county or a state isnt good enough.
