i mean white cis men reap the rewards of the system set up for their benefit every. single. day. if you are even passively benefiting from system racism, sexism, and classism whats the difference? mostly a rhetorical question. i understand there are differences. i am a white, cisgendered american man. i fully accept that i am complicit unless i actively resist the hegemony and work to tear it asunder.

4-6 hours. late 30s. no kids. work nights. home from in-person work anywhere from 10pm- 3am. up til 8 or 9 doing my other job (remote) or writing music/playing video games/catching up on sports. most days i can sleep til 1 or 2 pm before i have to make breakfast and hit the road for the gig that night.

I was bartending on Pittsburghs South Side about a decade ago. A local radio guy did his show from our bar/restaurant one night, and he was gonna interview Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. Right during my shift! So cool! So they get the remote set up, mics and lights, two stools. We have a packed house, probably close to 150 people in there waiting. In walks Coach! People notice, clap, cheer, chant Steelers stuff, etc. He smiles at everyone, waves to the crowd. Looks over at me behind the bar, and swirls his finger in the air. Like a woo-hoo gesture. I look over at the other barkeep, and were both like did he just buy a round?!? Yes, yes he did. Go Steelers
