That sounds correct. I just wonder how long it was that women were no longer offered for greens.

Ive been reading Pern novels since I was like 15 (Im 45) and until joining this sub it never really occurred to me that there was anything wrong with how she portrayed green riders. I suppose at some point or another I questioned how there were enough gay people to offer the huge number of green dragons that had to have been in all the weyrs but I guess it didnt seem all that deep. It was fantasy/sci-fi after all.

I used to read in order of publication but sometimes I like to start in chronological order from Dragonsdawn and chronicles of Pern on forward. Dragons eye, Moreta, Nerilka then to the ninth pass.

Awesome! I have a few signed items from her but only one is personalized. I wish I could have met her!

I had a dream of one day visiting Anne in Ireland when I was a teenager after reading all of her books. I even wrote down a list of questions I had for her about her stories. I’m very jealous that you actually got that honor. Thank you so much for making this post, I could almost imagine in my head what that might’ve been like. Did you get to meet her horses? Did you get to ask any questions about her books? I don’t even remember what was on my list anymore.

In my head it was always a long I but I believe in the dragondex she had it pronounced with a short i. Its possible Im wrong though, I dont have the book handy to check. I only recently found out that Piemur was pronounced PIE-mur (like the desert that he loves). I always heard pi-e-mur with a short i and e.

That sounds like an interesting read.
